...another World Machine terrain.
I played a lot with the erosion settings and gave it a test render (Terragen).

Thanks for all kind of comments! :)

Its a neat terrain, I'd like to point out something though, the terrain is very dry in color (like a desert) but its all foggy and grey - it just doesnt fit. a clear blue sky would be more belieavable.Especially since it seems to be patchy cloud but grey sky behind it.

Other than that, it looks a lot like the columbia river gorge. a lot.

The only thing I think this could have benefitted from is area lighting, to make the shadows cast more realistically.

This is absolutely incredible, it actually looks like a photo. You pulled off the layers in the rocks really well, and the sky and distant rocks really impressed me. The only criticism I would have to add is towards the shadows. Try put more texture to the edges of your shadows, they look too smooth. Maybe making them abit rougher around the edges, so to speak, or adding different shades within the shadow, so it doesn't look solid. All in all, great piece and congrats on the DD. :)

Seriosuly thought this was a photo oh some place in Arizona or someplace... but it amazed me even more when I found it wasn't. Simply gorgeous! I love it!

If you don't mind me asking, what programs did you use? Just wondering...

Now aside from the great job on the realism you've graced us with, I love the scale and depth of this 'snapshot'. This brings forth not only the marvels of 3D rendering, but also some really eye-catching perspective. : )
